Where to go for fancy drinks in Glasgow? The Corinthian Club, of course.
Glasgow appears to be filled to the brim with bars and pubs. Some are charming, some are boring, some are basically just cheap. You will never go thirsty in Scotland, at least not for long. Despite living on a student budget for the past few years, I have been able to do extensive research on Glasgow’s bar scene – where do you buy the cheapest pint? I know that. The cheapest gin? I know that too. However, those of you who have been reading Cavaforlunch.com for a while, might remember my last visit to Dublin and how I maxed out my credit card on a luxe day drinking experience at Sophie’s (No regrets!). The truth is that sometimes you just need something fancy. And I just found my new favorite place in Glasgow – the Corinthian Club.
The Corinthian is located in Merchant City, and it is housed in a beautiful old building from 1842. It used to be a bank, and the building is mostly known for its insanely beautiful and elaborate decorations. Everything within this building – from the chandeliers to the chairs – enhances the elegance and beauty of the place. Luckily, the decorations are still intact, and you can spend your evening gazing at the beautiful ceiling while sipping away on a delicious drink. Oh, talking about drinks! The Corinthian offers an extensive and exciting drink menu, they do also offer food, but hey – I’m still on that student budget of mine.
I love a good drink, and I’m happy to say that the Corinthian did not disappoint. Both my friend and I decided to go for the Flamingo Martini, an absolutely delicious take on traditional martini consisting of vanilla vodka, chambered liquor and fresh pineapple juice. It was very refreshing, and appeared to be the perfect drink for an otherwise busy Friday night.
The Corinthian Club is definitely the kind of place where you would want to spend a perfectly fancy evening. I love the concept, and next time I will hopefully be able to try their dinner menu as well xx
